A pedestrian has been died following a collision at Turtulla Cross in Thurles.

The collision occurred yesterday afternoon at around 3pm on the Thurles to Horsey & Jockey Road, when a car hit the 47-year-old pedestrian.

The 32-year-old male driver of the car and three passengers, all children, were uninjured.

The pedestrian was treated at the scene and then brought to South Tipperary General Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A post mortem will take place later today.
