Passengers heading to the airports over the long weekend are being asked to arrive at least 90 minutes before their flight - even if they've already checked-in online.

Airport authorities are urging anyone flying to prepare well in advance to help avoid any unnecessary delays for themselves and others.

Up to 400,000 people will pass through the country's airports between now and Bank Holiday Monday.

Dublin Airport says its own numbers will be up by 13% compared to last Easter.

Spokesperson Siobhan O'Donnell says passengers should give themselves plenty of time to get through security, and be prepared for the process in advance:
