The Health Service Executive is urging parents to have their children immunised.
It's part of a campaign launched today to highlight the importance of vaccination as a means of saving lives.
The HSE National Immunisation Office says many people forget how serious certain diseases are because immunisation in recent years has lessened their prevalence and impact.

The new campaign, which goes live today, includes television, radio and bus shelter ads.
