Dozens of Pakistani migrants currently being detained at a camp in Greece, have staged a protest amid fears they will be sent to Turkey soon.

Several Pakistanis were among some two hundred migrants who were shipped on the first day of an EU-Turkey deal, an arrangement which was implemented to try and curtail the number of refugees entering the EU.

The male protesters, who were heard chanting "freedom" and "will you help us please", are being held at a closed facility, where Human Rights Watch claims people are being denied proper legal representation and asylum information.

More than 2,000 people, several of them Syrians, are currently being held at the facility after leaving their homes to escape war.

Aid workers say conditions there are poor, with food limited and women and children being forced to sleep outdoors. Migrants are not allowed out of the camp and face expulsion back to Turkey, from where most of them made the precarious crossing to Greece by sea.

These workers have told members of the media that Syrians being held at the facility, are threatening to jump overboard if they are placed on ships back to Turkey.

It is believed that thousands of the migrants in Greece are likely to be returned in the coming weeks.
