Over €1m worth of cannabis was seized in Dublin yesterday.

The seizures came about through two separate operations in the capital.

One of these operations involved Milo and James the detector dogs who helped revenue officers search parcels at a property in the city.

They found 45kg of cannabis worth about €900,000 which had come from Spain and which was heading for addresses elsewhere in Dublin, as well as in Kildare.

Dublin Airport

A separate operation took place at Dublin Airport where luggage belonging to a passenger was searched.

The person had just arrived on a flight from Spain.

Just over 11kg of cannabis was found in vacuum-packed bags inside the luggage – worth an estimated €224,000.

Gardaí have since confirmed a woman in her 40s was arrested with the seizure at Dublin Airport.

She was charged and appeared before the courts earlier today.
