Well, this is not the sort of traffic congestion you see every day.
Motorists in the Santry area of Dublin today encountered a very peculiar object blocking the road - a giant inflatable minion. Yes, one of those popular cartoon critters from the Despicable Me films and the recent Minions spin-off.
Photos posted on Twitter yesterday showed the inflatable taking pride of place beside a fairground in the town, but the windy weather today appears to have caused it to come loose on the Old Swords Road.
The Journal reports gardaí deflated and removed the giant yellow inflatable, and there were no injuries (although one car's wing mirror was damaged).
As photos of the incident were shared across social media, Dublin City Councillor Paul McAuliffe did point out some possible health & safety concerns - although not without sneaking in a Despicable Me pun in the process.

In a separate statement, Cllr McAuliffe said, "fairground events and festivals are really important in bringing foot fall to our city villages but even the smallest events have health and safety conditions. I have asked the Council to provide me with a report on the incident and for the operators of the fairground to be interviewed by council officials."
