Retail sales for October are up 5.6% on last year.
That is despite a small fall in monthly figures - they were down 0.7% on September.
According to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office, furniture and lighting saw the greatest sales increase month-on-month in October - on 8%.

The motor trade sector, meanwhile, experienced the largest decline - down 3.8%.
The CSO says that when motor trade is excluded, "there was an increase of 0.3% in the volume of retail sales in October 2014 when compared with September 2014 and there was an increase of 4.6% in the annual figure."
