A Northern Ireland inquiry has been told sexual abuse at a children's home in Co. Down was equal to, if not worse, than abuse at the Kincora Boys Home.
The Historical Institutional Abuse Inquiry is examining allegations of abuse at Rubane House in Kircubbin.
The inquiry has estimated that one in five of 1,050 former residents at Rubane have made allegations of serious sexual or physical abuse.
A total of 13 Northern Ireland institutions are being investigated.
The Kircubbin home was run by the De La Salle religious order - which has already accepted some children were abused.
The Kincora Boys' Home in Belfast was a children's home that was the scene of a notorious child sex abuse scandal, which first came to light in 1980.
The inquiry was formally established in January 2013 by the Northern Ireland Executive and has a remit to investigate child abuse which occurred in residential institutions in Northern Ireland over a 73-year period up to 1995.
In total, it is expected to hear from more than 300 witnesses during the course of the public evidence.
However the final report of the inquiry may not be submitted until January 2017.
