The finance minister has told the Fine Gael National Conference they will be "astounded" at the good news being delivered in Tuesday's Budget.
Michael Noonan says there are only a small number of "bits and bobs" to be finalised before the Budget's announced.
Noonan told the Fine Gael national conference in Limerick that this year's Budget will do the last of the "heavy lifting" to restore the public finances.
And he's told delegates that there's no reason to be too downbeat ahead of Tuesday's Budget.
“Some people pose a contradiction between job creation and sound finances. It’s not there and I think we have proved over the last while that there is no contradiction between the two.
Speaking in a seemingly light-hearted tone the Minster told delegates: “So I look forward to you turning on your televisions on Tuesday and you’ll be astounded at all the good news I’ll be announcing,” he said.
