Elections in parts of Nigeria have been extended until today following a number of attacks.

Yesterday officials and witnesses in Nigeria said Boko Haram militants killed 39 people in separate attacks.

The extremists struck in the north-east, despite the military announcing on Friday that it had cleared them from all major centres there.

Voting in the election was also disrupted by glitches in the use of new anti-fraud technology.
