A massive sinkhole has appeared in New York City.

The fire department there says operations are ongoing at the site in Brooklyn.

There are no reports of injuries and the intersection at 5th Avenue and 64th Street is closed.

The sinkhole swallowed up most of the intersection at about 8am, according to the Office of Emergency Management.
