Pet owners in New York will soon have the option of being laid to rest alongside their deceased domestics. Beginning in August, the New York State Department will allow the interment of human remains in pet cemeteries.
However, the regulation only allows for cremated human ashes to be interred, provided there is no extra fee charged and no advertisements are made for human burials.
The increased demand in pet owners seeking eternal rest with their companions initially attracted government focus after the practice was ceased in 2011. The enactment includes all pet cemeteries in New York.
