A new opinion poll reveals support for abolishing the Seanad has slipped significantly since February-with just 37 per cent of those surveyed in favour of supporting the proposal.
According to the Millward Brown poll for tomorrow's Sunday Independent, which interviewed 985 adults throughout Ireland from the 3rd to the 12th of August, support for abolishing the Upper House is decreasing and the majority of voters would now prefer to retain and reform it instead.
The report shows those in favour of keeping it and reforming it now hold a 3 point lead over those who wish to abolish it.
The Political Correspondent with the Sunday Independent, Daniel McConnell, has been looking at the findings.
