We’ve been aware that it’s been coming for some time now, but Ford Ireland has today announced that the first deliveries of the new Ford Mustang will arrive this November. This will be the first time since the Mustang was created fifty years ago that the car will be available officially with right hand drive.
Since it was first created there has been over nine million Mustangs sold. According to the manufacturer it is the most “liked” car on Facebook, and the car itself has had some major appearances in many movies, song and even video games.
The Mustang will be available in Convertible and Fastback form and it will offer a choice of two engines; 2.3 litre EcoBoost and 5.0 litre V8 – both engines offer manual or automatic transmissions. Prices for the Fastback are between €46,000 and €65,000, whereas the Convertible ranges between €52,000 and €73,000. The 5.0 litre V8 engine offers 418PS and 524Nm of torque. The 2.3 litre engine delivers 314PS and 434Nm of torque using direct injection, variable cam timing and turbocharging.
“Even though the car has never been sold in Europe, the Mustang’s reputation for performance and its iconic status as a symbol of the free, open road is well implanted in the psyche of motorists across Europe,” said Ciaran McMahon, Chairman and Managing Director of Ford Ireland. “The new Mustang is modern, technologically advanced and forward-looking, without compromising on the heritage that has inspired Ford customers for generations.”
