Rolls-Royce has announced that they will be launching a new model, the “Rolls-Royce Dawn”, during the first quarter of 2016. Dawn takes its name from “Silver Dawn”, which was initially used by the manufacturer in 1949 and was applied to 28 special drophead bodies between 1950 and 1954.

The car’s name was unveiled today at the 2015 Rolls-Royce World Dealer Conference in Los Angeles. The vehicle that will use the name is said to be the “next step in the renaissance” of the manufacturer, which started in 2003 when they launched the Phantom and later the Ghost and Wraith.

Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes, Chief Executive Officer of Rolls-Royce said, “Our new Rolls-Royce Dawn promises a striking, seductive encounter like no other Rolls-Royce to date. Dawn is a beautiful new open-top motor car with a name that suggests the fresh opportunities that every new day holds – an awakening, an opening up of one’s senses and a burst of sunshine. It will be the most social of super-luxury motor cars for those beautiful people who wish to bathe in the sunlight of the world’s social hotspots.”

Sadly we can only report on the name of the new Rolls-Royce. The images here here show one of the rarest cars in the world, a 1952 Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn.
