A new banking regulator has been agreed for the Eurozone, aimed at preventing another crisis.
Britain has dropped its opposition.
The European Central Bank will supervise around 6,000 institutions from next year, but agreement on dealing with failing banks hasn't yet been reached.

Earlier the EU's economic affairs commisioner held a press conference in Luxembourg, after a meeting of the Eurogroup, that Ireland looks set to successfully exit its troika bailout programme.
