A child’s risk of developing an allergic disease are gender-related and not simply hereditary.

Research by Southampton University in Britain says the chance of getting asthma and eczema is doubled if a parent of the same sex has suffered from it.

The findings came from a study of nearly 15-hundred patients recruited from birth, 23 years ago.
