The National Lottery has been left a little red-faced after an error during its Lotto Plus 2 and '54321' Plus 2 draw on Saturday night. A misprint on one of the draw balls resulted in the number 9 ball incorrectly underlined on the winning line-up as a 6.

The actual winning combination is 3, 9 , 23, 39, 40 , 42 while the bonus number was 10.

The National Lottery is paying out on this combination.

But it is also going to pay out on the combination of 3, 6, 23, 39, 40, 42 with the bonus number 10.

The organisation says that if your ticket from the Saturday draw contains a winning combination without the number 6, you can claim your prize from any National Lottery agent in the normal way.

If your ticket contains a combination which would have won with the number 6, you are advised to sign the back of your ticket and post it, with your name, address and telephone number to Lotto Plus 2, National Lottery, Abbey Street Lower, Dublin 1.

The organisation will then verify the ticket and refund the cost of postage. They have also apologised for any confusion caused.
