People can be very fickle about social media, with user exodus responsible for killing many potential Facebooks. Such was the case with Myspace, but now they've got a new strategy to get back in the game.

Myspace is attempting to get former users back on the site by sending them their old, embarrassing photos. Users have been receiving emails containing their photos with the caption, "the good, the rad, and the what were you thinking..."

The site, which rapidly declined in popularity shortly after it was bought for almost $600m by NewsCorp, has been given a new lease of life since it was acquired by a group of investors which count Justin Timberlake as a member.

The new Myspace features a sleek, visual-heavy design with a strong focus on music. But according to Mashable, it is yet unclear if reminding old users of embarrassing times past is successfully driving them back to the website.

With a total of over 15 billion photos, Myspace must have one of the world's great archives for embarrassing moments. But even this pales in comparison to Facebook's claims of 250 billion.

So if you're the blushing type, you should hope that they don't follow suit!
