Gardai have officially launched a murder investigation following the shooting a 27 year old man in Dublin.
The father of three from the south inner city was shot dead in Kilmainham this morning.
A car, believed to have been used by the gunman, was found on fire in nearby Rialto shortly afterwards
Gardai are tonight appealing for information following the capital's latest gangland style murder.
The 27 year old victim was shot in the chest - along the red Luas line beside the Grand Canal - at the junction of Davitt Road and Suir Road in Kilmainham.
The gunman is described as being around 6 foot tall - and wearing a sky blue hoodie with white shoulders.
Garda spokesperson - Superintendent David Taylor - says two Luas trams were passing at the time of the shooting at around 10.30
A metallic grey lilac Opel Astra car was found on fire a short distance away at Rialto Court.
A firearm discovered in the car is undergoing tests.
