Motorists are being asked to give their views on the how the driving test should be conducted.

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is launching a public consultation process on the future of the examination to mark the 50th anniversary of the first driving test in Ireland.

The RSA wants road-users to give their opinion on suggested reforms to the current process.

It is thinking of introducing a 10-minute independent driving section to the test.
