The Taoiseach and Tanaiste have marked two years of the coalition in office.

"Ireland - gone from being a problem case in Europe, to being it's most likely success story" Tánaiste Gilmore said. Along with Enda Kenny he has marked the 2-year review of the Programme for Government.

Exiting the bailout, creating jobs and ensuring that most families in mortgage arrears are offered a solution are their priorities for the next 12 months.

The coalition says two-thirds of the commitments in the programme for government have been progressed. They say they will "go the full course" with no general election for another 3 years.

Eamon Gilmore also says that the government have turned Ireland "from chaos to stability".

Enda Kenny is adamant the government plan will continue and deliver for the Irish people. And he has pledged to sort out those who cannot afford to pay their mortgages. He insists that will not result in large numbers of people being kicked out of their homes.

Asked during the press conference about the rise in support for Fianna Fáil, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said there were "many good people" in that party but that the party was responsible for the mess the country is in.
