The US is suspending all travel from most European countries to the US because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Donald Trump announced restrictions will come in on Friday for the next 30 days for 26 countries in mainland Europe - but it appears as if Ireland is not impacted.

There have been around 1,300 cases of COVID-19 across the US, with 37 deaths.

It comes after the first death in Ireland from the virus - an elderly woman who was being treated in hospital and had underlying health issues.

43 cases of COVID-19 have now been confirmed in the Republic, after nine more cases were confirmed last night.
