 The man accused of killing UK Labour MP Jo Cox is due in court later today.

52-year-old Thomas Mair is due before the Old Bailey charged with her murder.

On Saturday, he gave his name as 'death to traitors, freedom for Britain' when he appeared before magistrates.

Two people died on our roads in separate traffic accidents over the weekend.

A woman in her sixties died following a crash in Cork yesterday evening, when the car she was a passenger in collided with another car at Skew Bridge, Tivoli at around 4pm.

On Saturday a 25-year-old woman was killed when the car she was traveling in collided with another car at Enfield in County Meath.

A paternity bill is to be published today, bringing in two weeks' paid leave for new fathers - from September of this year.

The legislation will allow new fathers to start the combined package of paternity leave and benefit, within the first six months of a child's birth.

It will also apply to the fathers of newly-adopted children.

The Anti Austerity Alliance are calling on Minister Simon Coveney to freeze bin charges immediately.

New pay by weight charges are due to kick in on Friday the 1st of July and some companies have told customers they'll be increasing prices as a result.

Minister for Housing Simon Coveney is said to be considering capping charges temporarily as an emergency measure.

Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin - who played Chekov in the recent films - has died in a tragic accident.

The 27-year-old was killed when his car rolled backwards down his drive and pinned him against a wall outside his home in California.

The actor is in the third film in the franchise, Star Trek Beyond, which is due to be released in the UK next month.
