A 67-year-old man has died in a house fire in Dublin.

The blaze broke out on Lissadell Drive in Drimnagh at around 9pm last night.

Four units of Dublin Fire Brigade and an ambulance attended the scene.

Gardaí do not believe the fire is suspicious but are investigating.

Ryanair has until 5pm to sort out compensation after cancelling thousands of flights.

The UK's Civil Aviation Authority wants the firm to tell passengers they're entitled to be re-routed by another carrier and explain how that will work.

Here, the Commissioner for Aviation Regulation says it's dealing with 300 customer complaints about Ryanair each week - and expects that number to rise.

Irish Water's been forced to admit it took too long to communicate the severity of the Drogheda outage this summer.

Almost 100,000 homes were without water for nearly a week in the Louth/ Meath area as a result of a major burst at the Staleen treatment plant.

In an internal review into how it handled the crisis, Irish Water found it should have escalated the matter within the first 24 hours so that it could better inform those affected.

Gardaí and Department of Health Officials will meet today to discuss the new Drugs and Alcohol strategy.

It's the first meeting of the oversight group who will tackle the increase in consumption of drugs and alcohol and the corresponding increase in crime.

Gardaí say the boom in the night-time economy has seen the number of assaults in particular skyrocket.

The Taoiseach's told European leaders that Ireland remains committed to the EU.

He was speaking at a dinner in Estonia last night chaired by the President of the European Council Donald Tusk.

Mr Varadkar will join his European counterparts for an informal summit in the Estonian capital this afternoon.
