Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information on a fatal shooting in Athy to come forward.
A 22-year-old lost his life in the incident, in the Greenhills area of the town, just after five yesterday evening.
A man in his 40s is being questioned in connection with the attack.
A post mortem on the victim's remains is expected to be carried out by the Office of the State Pathologist today.

Gerry Adams has hit out those who he says have "opportunistically seized on the killing of Kevin McGuigan".
In a statement released last night, the Sinn Féin President said: "The killing of Kevin McGuigan was wrong and those who were involved in it are criminals who do not represent republicanism".
He also added that "the IRA was not involved".
His comments come after the PSNI on Thursday said they suspected IRA involvement in the killing.

A spokesperson for the White House says that Hayali was killed in an attack on his car in Mosul on Tuesday, and that his death would damage IS operations.
