Catalonia leaders will today decide whether to unilaterally declare the region’s independence from Spain.
It was believed that leaders were ready to make the declaration amid ongoing political turmoil – and a threat from the Spanish Prime Minister to sack the regional government.
However, reports this morning indicate the decision may be delayed.
Over the weekend, thousands of people took the street demonstrating for and against independence – illustrating how divided the region is.

Labour Leader Brendan Howlin says we are 'galloping towards a train wreck' if we don't have a clear view of the issues affecting us after Brexit.
His comments come as pressure intensifies on the government to immediately publish details of a leaked internal Revenue report about the potential impact for the border.

In a speech updating her colleagues in Westminster on the progress of the talks, Theresa May is set to call for the EU to be flexible in its approach and promise the UK can get a deal that will prove the anti-Brexit "doomsayers" wrong.
She will call for talks to be approached in a constructive way “with our sights set firmly on the future.”
European leaders will decide at a European Council summit on 19-20 October whether “sufficient progress” has been made in the talks in order to begin negotiations on a future trading relationship.

US Vice President Mike Pence has walked out of an American football game after some players knelt rather than stood during the national anthem.
He was watching his home team - the Indianapolis Colts – play the San Francisco 49ers.
Mr Pence said he could not dignify an event "disrespects our soldiers, our flag" after abandoning the game.
US President Donald Trump said he had asked Mr Pence to leave if players knelt – however a number of protesters have suggested he only attended the game to make a point.
