Thousands of gardaí, dignitaries and members of the public will gather in Co Louth today for the State funeral of Garda Tony Golden.
The father (36) of three was shot dead in the line of duty last Sunday night in the Mullach Álainn estate in Omeath, Co Louth.
Chief mourners at the funeral will be Garda Golden’s wife Nicola, his children Lucy, Alex and Andrew, as well as his family, friends and colleagues in the force.

Residents blocking survivors of the Carrickmines fire from temporary accommodation are due to meet County Council officials again this morning.
