There are seven more cases of coronavirus in the Republic of Ireland, bringing the total to 13.

Four males in the east picked it up after travelling, and two females in the west got it from close contact with another confirmed case.

It is still unclear where another man contracted Covid-19 - marking the first case of community transmission in the country.

He is being treated at Cork University Hospital, where outpatient appointments have been cancelled and visitor restrictions are in place.

Trinity College Dublin says it has been informed of a positive case of coronavirus on its campus.

In a letter to staff and students, the university says the HSE will trace anyone who has been in contact with the affected person.

Some areas of the campus have been closed as a precaution.

Tusla received more than 1,100 referrals of child sexual abuse in the space of three months last year.

It's an increase of nearly 8% on the previous quarter.

In the first three months of 2019, the Child and Family Agency received 1,029 referrals - and 1,107 in the next quarter.

The Flood Relief Minister says water is still being pumped away from several homes after the recent flooding crisis.

Rain has eased since the weekend, and the water levels have receded in many places.

However, efforts are still ongoing to stop houses from being flooded in several areas in the midlands and west.
