Around 100 people have reportedly died and more than 400 have been injured in six explosions in and around Sri Lanka's capital.

The Reuters news agency has spoken to hospital officials and police in Colombo after hotels and churches were targeted on Easter Sunday.

It is believed the attacks have been co-ordinated.

Police in Derry are currently dealing with a number of security alerts in the city this morning.

Road closures are in place on Iniscarn Road, Harty Court, Moss Park.

A section of Strand Road has also been closed to traffic.

Gardaí in Dublin are looking for witnesses after an assault on a cyclist in Killbarack in Dublin.

The 39-year-old was cycling on Swans Nest Road on Saturday morning when a black saloon car collided with him, and a number of men got out and hit him with weapons before driving off.

He was taken to Beaumont Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The President, Taoiseach and Minister with responsibility for Defence will lead a ceremony in Dublin today to mark the anniversary of the 1916 Rising.

The Army and Naval Service are taking part and an Air Corps fly past has been scheduled.

The Easter Rising ceremony will place on O'Connell Street from noon.

Protesters have voiced frustration about the effort to save Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

Protests turned violent on Saturday.

At least 126 people have been arrested in Paris on the 23rd week of the yellow vest protests.
