An investigation is underway after more than 100 people attended a party in a shed in County Cork last night.

Gardaí said they broke up the party in the village of Blarney at around 11pm last night.

The crowd was dispersed without any public order incidents; however, Gardaí are investigating the event under public health laws.

The organisers of the party and everyone that attended could face prosecution under Section 31A of the Health Act and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

A Garda spokesperson warned that the coronavirus pandemic remains a public health crisis and appealed to the public to demonstrate personal and social responsibility in order to save lives.
