Mostly cloudy today, with rain spreading to most parts during the morning and continuing on and off through the day, with some locally heavy bursts and a risk of localized flooding. However, it will remain mostly dry in the north and northwest, with some bright spells, but a little patchy rain will develop later.
Maximum temperatures just 12 to 15 Celsius, (highest in the north and northwest), with mostly light to moderate northeasterly winds, backing northerly, but windy along the west coast and in the south, with fresh to strong west to northwest winds.
Early tonight, rain will clear in most places, with cloud breaking up overnight and just a few scattered showers. Minimum temperatures 7 to 9 Celsius, in light to moderate northwesterly winds.
An orange weather alert remains in place in Kerry, and a yellow alert in Limerick, Galway, Mayo, Clare and Cork, until midday today.
