The Banking Inquiry committee has announced a report finalisation team will be created to help complete its work.
11 members of the committee met in private session today to discuss the draft report and possible amendments.
In a statement this afternoon the inquiry says some of the material that members wanted to deal with are not suitable to the process.
As a result it has been decided that a team will be set up to help advance the report, and this will report back on Tuesday.
Chairman deputy Ciarán Lynch outlines what happened today:
Earlier Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin said party-political interests seem to be interfering with the report of the Oireachtas Banking Inquiry.
The Irish Times reported during the week that the work of the inquiry could be on the verge of collapse, as the 11 TDs involved could refuse to sign off on the draft report.
It was suggested earlier this week that members of the committee have criticised the report as being "weak and confusing", stating that the process is like "doing your Leaving Cert" all over again as they have to hand over their phones to avoid leaks.
The final report is due to be published on the 20th of January.
Deputy Martin says any report published should be objective:
