It goes up two points to 26% in the Behaviour and Attitudes survey for the Sunday Times.

Sinn Féin is up one point on 17%, with Labour unchanged on just 5%.

New Labour leader Brendan Howlin is the second most popular leader on 40%.

Brendan Howlin succeeded Joan Burton as Labour leader on May 20th. This is his first satisfaction rating.

Ms Burton's opening 'honeymoon' satisfaction rating in August 2014 was 45%.

While Taoiseach Enda Kenny sees no change in his satisfaction rating at 26%, and Sinn Féin's Gerry Adams is up 1 to 31%.

Green Party leader Eamon Ryan is also unchanged, at 37%.

The face-to-face poll is based on a sample of 913 Irish voters.

Stephen O'Brien is political editor of the Sunday Times. He says Mr Martin's popularity is not surprising.
