A section of the world famous Broadway in Manhattan has been named after Michael Flatley.
Flatley's achievements in spreading Irish-American culture were recognised when part of New York's Broadway street was renamed Flatley Way.
Speaking at the renaming ceremony, the star told The Independent "I am delighted and honoured - for me, opening the show on Broadway is a dream come true".
Flatley's show The Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games opened on Broadway earlier this week at the Lyric Theater close to the portion of the road named after him, and will continue into January.
Thanks for a fantastic welcome to #Broadway, we're here until January 3rd! Tickets at https://t.co/XX69ketVqz pic.twitter.com/mXI4XQLNuo
