The chairman of the Banking Inquiry says members are prepared to put in long days and long weeks - if that is what's needed to issue a final report.
Members are set to interrupt the Christmas break to continue work on the report, including the possibility of extra sittings on St Stephens' Day and New Year's Day.
The inquiry held an emergency meeting on Saturday after its first draft report was lambasted as being too weak and full of contradictions.
The meeting was held to discuss the feedback from the inquiry's members, and to assess any changes or amendments needed to the draft report.
Chairman Ciarán Lynch says extra sittings will be held if that is what it takes to finish the report in time:
In a statement released following Saturday's emergency meeting, the inquiry said some of the material matters that members wanted to deal with "are not suited to the amendment process".
As a result it has been decided that a team will be set up to help advance the report, and this will report back tomorrow.
The final report is due to be published on the 20th of January.
