The Swedish chapter of the "Bearded Villains" group found themselves in an awkward situation recently when they were mistaken for a group of ISIS members.
Local residents were concerned by the sight of a number of bearded men waving a black flag around in the town of Jönköping, Sweden, and a "member of the public who passed by on the freeway had seen the gang and alerted the police that the Islamic state (IS), were at the site".
That person seems to have been a bit over-enthusiastic with their security concerns, however, as when the police arrived to the scene what they found was a group who call themselves the "Bearded Villains".
Their choice of flag probably didn't do them any favours, it has to be said.

The group had met to have a photoshoot and talk about their appreciation of beards, and when the police did arrive, it seemed that they were all able to see the funny side of things.
Speaking to the Jönköpings-Posten, Andreas Fransson, a member of the group said that "it is obviously disappointing that someone mistook us for terrorists but also a bit funny".
