Taoiseach Enda Kenny has congratulated Rory McIlroy on his victory in golf’s PGA Championship in the US overnight.
The win means the 23-year-old has won his second major championship at a younger age than Tiger Woods.

Mr Kenny says it’s further confirmation of his enormous talent and a clear signal that he has the potential to become one of the greats of the game.
He says Irish golf is going through an amazing period of success, with Rory at the vanguard of that change.
Rory himself has told Sky Sports News the win is a dream come true.
