Gardaí are warning of a scam website which falsely claims to be a link to a livestream of the funeral of six-year-old Matthew Healy, which is taking place in Watergrasshill today.

In fact, the post includes a link that directs users to a webpage asking for personal details.

Gardaí said anyone who wants to livestream the mass should revert to the parish of Watergrasshill and Glenville directly.

The Senior Infants pupil was found at Rathmoylan Cove close to Dunmore East after midnight last Friday and pronounced dead at University Hospital Waterford.

Today’s requiem mass in Watergrasshill will be followed by a private service at The Island Crematorium in Ringaskiddy.

Meanwhile, his mother, 37-year-old Ruth Purcell Healy of Bishopsfield, Williamstown, Waterford appeared before a special sitting of Waterford District Court charged with Matthew's murder on the 8th or 9th of February at Rathmoylan, County Waterford.

Detective Sergeant David Shore said the accused said, “No, thank you” when asked if she wanted to reply to the charge.

Bail cannot be applied for on a murder charge at District Court level and Judge Kevin Staunton remanded Ms Purcell Healy in custody to Limerick Prison.

She is due to appear before the court again on Tuesday via video link.
