Mark Nash is alleged to have stabbed 61-year-old Mary Callanan and 60-year-old Sylvia Shields at their home in March 1997.

The women were living in sheltered accommodation attached to St Brendan's Psychiatric Hospital at the time.

The case has been at trial for nearly three months. The jury, which is down to 11 members, will resume its deliberations on a verdict on Monday.
