Gardai are investigating the discovery of the body of a man in Waterford city.

The man in his late 30s was found dead at an apartment in Canada Square just before 9am this morning.

Gardai had received a call from a passer-by to say the body was spotted on a balcony at Nore House.

The man has not yet been identified and gardai are at the scene.

A post mortem will be carried out later today.
