Gardaí say a teenager has been arrested and two firearms recovered following an incident in Dublin this morning.

A search got underway at around 9.30am this morning after reports of a disturbance at a house in Kilmainham and a youth with a firearm.

The youth reportedly left the scene when gardaí arrived. Nobody is believed to have been injured in the incident.

Local gardaí, the Emergency Response Unit, the Garda Dog Unit and the Air Support Unit were involved in the search.

Two firearms - pending a ballistic examination - were recovered.

A male teenager was later arrested in the Inchicore area.

He is currently being held at Kevin Street Garda Station.
