A man who pulled an imitation gun on a dog owner whose pet 'Storm' was off leash has avoided jail with a 3-year suspended sentence.
Henry Bryan threatened to kill the man while out walking his own dog 'Snowy' on Harmonstown Road in Dublin last year.
The court heard Mr. Bryan (52), with an address at Sea Road in Galway, was out walking his dog when a dog named 'Storm' ran over from a nearby house.
Snowy pounced on Storm and Henry Bryan became aggressive and began cursing at Storm's owner and giving out that the dog should be on a leash.
He threatened to burn the woman's house down and kneecap her.
When her partner came out of the house, Bryan pulled out an imitation gun and repeatedly told the man "I'm gonna blow your head off".
A psychiatric report diagnosed the father of five as having a major depressive disorder.
The court heard at the time of the incident, Bryan had just come out of a 10-year relationship and was under strain. He entered a guilty plea at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
