A date has been set for the trial of a man accused of murdering his partner's son at an apartment on the Malahide Road in Dublin.

Dean Fitzpatrick (23), a father of one and brother of missing teenager Amy Fitzpatrick, was stabbed to death last May.

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of Dean's death.

On May 25th last, he died in hospital after being stabbed at an apartment on the Malahide Road.

Two months ago, Dave Mahon- a partner of Dean's mother Audrey - returned from his home in Spain to be charged with his murder.

Mr. Mahon, with an address at The Crescent, Ongar Village in Clonsilla, appeared on bail before Mr. Justice Paul Carney today and July 20th next year was set for the beginning of his trial.

The death is not the first tragedy to befall the Fitzpatrick family.

In 2008, his sister Amy (then 15) went missing without a trace after leaving her friend's house on the Costa del Sol.
