A 34-year-old man will appear in court in Longford this morning, charged in connection with an aggravated burglary in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Three men entered the house in Edgeworthstown and threatened the occupants before fleeing the scene when the alarm was raised.
A family was held at knife-point during the raid, which occurred at roughly 1.30am.
Those living in the house raised the alarm and gardaí arrived as the intruders made off.
One man was arrested after gardai gave chase on foot, while a second was detained nearby during a follow up operation.
All property taken during the burglary has been recovered and a car has been seized.
The 34-year-old man will appear before Longford District Court later, while a 41-year-old is still being held at Granard Garda Station.
