Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted yesterday afternoon.

It happened in the Castle Riada area, close to a pub in Lucan at around 4:30pm.

A 31-year-old man who was walking home from work was approached and assaulted by four teenagers.

The injured main sustained serious injuries to his face.

He was brought to James Connolly Memorial Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
