Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 60s was assaulted in Dublin last night.
It happened at around 11pm, when two men approached the 61-year-old man and his wife on Glasnevin Avenue and demanded he hand over his wallet.
He brandished a knife and the man received stab wounds. The two men escaped in a car.
The victim was taken to the Mater Hospital and his injuries are described as non-life threatening.
His wife did not suffer any injuries and was treated for shock.
