Gardai are investigating a serious assault on a man in his 30s in South Dublin.

The incident occured at Carrickmines Retail Park at around 4.25 this afternoon.

The victim was taken to St Vincent's Hospital with stab wounds.

His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Gardaí in Blackrock are appealing for witnesses to the attack to come forward.
