The PSNI is investigating after a paramilitary-style shooting in Northern Ireland.

It happened in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast on Wednesday night.

Police said a man, aged in his 40s, was shot in both legs.

He has been taken to hospital, where his condition is described as stable.

Police are appealing for witnesses or those with information to contact them.
