A man in his 20s is in a serious condition following an alleged assault at a house in Tralee, Co Kerry last night.

Gardaí who were called to the scene at Killeen Woods at around 10.30pm found the man unconscious in the front garden.

He was rushed to Kerry General Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

Two men in their late 20s and early 30s were arrested near the scene.

The suspects are being held at Tralee garda station.

A forensic and technical examination of the scene is underway and gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
